The wine: the white earth, not very fertile and rich in marine sediments, characterizes these hills, guarded by the romantic church of San Pietro, which with its crooked bell tower embraces the grignolino vineyards below. The wine is fresh and fragrant, intriguing and rebellious. The nose is delicately spiced with citrus and red fruit notes. It is a wine with a delicate color and pleasant tannins.
TECHNICAL SHEET5StarWines is the selection of wines organized by Veronafiere. Held every year before Vinitaly, the event has now reached its fifth edition. 5StarWines is a three-day tasting that shines the spotlight on all wineries that invest in improving their wines. There is a jury of highly qualified “wine professionals” from all over the world to taste and give a vote in cents to the participating wines.
All wines participating in the 5StarWines – the Book selection are evaluated by the jury during three days of blind tasting. Each wine is assigned a partial score first, based on a careful visual and taste-olfactory analysis, then an overall score. Wines that obtain a score equal to or greater than 85 points in this phase pass to a second examination – the tasting by the Scientific Committee of the General Chairmen – thus receiving the final score.
At the end of the three days, the wines that reach an evaluation of at least 90/100 are destined for publication in the international guide 5StarWines – The Book, in paper and digital format, accompanied by the tasting notes written by the experts.
